Accredited Service Provider (ASP)

Choosing an Accredited Service Provider (ASP) in the UAE

An Accredited Service Provider should be evaluated against the invoicing systems and operational risks of your business. Verify current accreditation, supported integrations, service levels and access to your transaction records before selecting a provider.

01What you should know before getting started

A UAE e-invoicing Accredited Service Provider is a service provider accredited under the Ministry of Finance framework to facilitate compliant invoice exchange. Choosing an ASP is a business-critical vendor decision involving technical compatibility, service reliability, information security, support, and total cost.

Ask whether the provider supports the invoicing systems you actually use, how validation errors reach finance staff, how supplier and buyer onboarding works, and what happens if systems are offline. Verify the current accreditation status using the Ministry of Finance portal. Independent advisory about selection must not be described as ASP accreditation.

What the service covers

  • Current accreditation and permitted scope verification
  • ERP and application integration fit
  • Data security, retention and incident procedures
  • Pricing model and service-level commitments
  • Buyer/supplier exchange, reporting and exception handling

Documents and details to prepare

Share the accounting applications you use, legal-entity count, invoice volumes and a few sample transactions, including a credit note and a potential rejection. Bring available ASP proposals and questions about support, security, pricing, data export and service continuity. This enables a comparison grounded in your actual workload rather than marketing claims.

02How we approach your case

  1. 01List systems and invoice types to be supported
  2. 02Shortlist currently accredited providers
  3. 03Demo representative transactions and error paths
  4. 04Review contract, data protection and commercial terms
  5. 05Complete onboarding and test before go-live

Compare providers against your actual workload

Start with monthly invoice volumes, number of legal entities, accounting platforms, required integrations and operational hours. An ASP suitable for a small consultancy may not suit a wholesaler with several invoice-generating systems. Request a demonstration using transactions that resemble your own, including a credit note and an invoice that initially fails validation. Assess the clarity of error messages and the practical work required of finance staff rather than selecting solely on the quoted price.

Accreditation is separate from marketing claims

The Ministry of Finance updated its accreditation framework in October 2026. Check the current official accredited-provider information and the scope of services offered before signing. The fact that a software company offers invoicing features does not automatically mean that it is an accredited service provider. Equally, an accounting adviser who helps with readiness should not be described as the ASP without proof of that status. Document which organization is contractually responsible for exchange, technical support, data handling and implementation.

Questions for a commercial and technical evaluation

Ask about onboarding charges, monthly usage bands, extra legal entities, testing, data export and termination arrangements. Examine service availability, incident support, recovery procedures and ownership of rejected-document queues. Ask how the provider will accommodate changes to government specifications and whether your internal finance team will have access to status histories. Where records move between cloud systems, understand the security and access model and check current regulatory requirements for record retention and availability.

Avoid a rushed selection

A sensible decision process uses a written scorecard covering compliance evidence, integration effort, customer support, total cost and long-term flexibility. Have finance, operations and IT review the same proposal. Then carry out a small proof-of-concept using real but appropriately protected sample data. A low initial subscription is not a saving if manual reconciliation and exception handling become a recurring expense.

What the engagement should deliver

For Choosing an Accredited Service Provider (ASP) in the UAE, the practical output is a documented readiness plan rather than a generic software checklist. Young & Right can assess current accreditation and permitted scope verification, map the relevant transaction types, record missing invoice data and agree testing responsibilities. Any live electronic exchange and technical provider services must be delivered under the appointed accredited service provider’s arrangement. The business remains responsible for accurate transaction records and in-scope obligations.
