Audit Assistance in Ajman

HomeAuditAjman

Many Ajman companies are young, fast-growing and run by owners who also handle sales, purchasing and payroll. The books were kept to survive, not to be audited. When a bank, investor, landlord or licensing authority asks for audited accounts, the gaps appear all at once. Young & Right tidies the records, builds the supporting schedules and liaises with your auditor. We prepare; we do not sign audit opinions.

What the service covers

A clean-up of the year's bookkeeping, including uncategorised bank lines

Marketplace, payment-gateway and cash-on-delivery settlement reconciliations

Owner and partner current-account analysis

A simple fixed-asset list covering vehicles, equipment and fit-out

Payroll and end-of-service benefit summaries agreed to staff records

A covering note for your auditor describing how the records were prepared

Documents and details to prepare

Gather twelve months of bank and card statements, sales exports from every channel you use, supplier invoices, rent agreements and your licence documents. Include a list of staff with joining dates and salaries, any loans from owners and the last set of financial statements if one exists. A shoebox of receipts is fine as a starting point; we will help you sort it. Tell us whether the licence comes from Ajman DED or from Ajman Free Zone, because the authority affects what is expected of you.

From shoebox to schedule

Smaller businesses often underestimate how much a good audit pack relies on tidy basics. Before any complex judgement is needed, the auditor wants to see that every bank line has an explanation and every invoice has a home. We work through the ledger in monthly blocks, so you see progress quickly and can answer our queries while the details are still fresh in your mind.

  • Month-by-month review of bank lines with a query list for management
  • Matching supplier bills to payments and highlighting missing invoices
  • Separating personal spending from business spending in owner accounts
  • Agreeing sales totals to platform reports and to deposits received

Online sellers and service start-ups

A shop selling through social media and delivery apps might receive money in four different ways, each with its own fees and refunds. If these are lumped together, revenue looks higher than the cash received and nobody can explain the gap. We separate gross sales, commission, delivery charges and returns into distinct lines. For service start-ups, we help match client contracts and invoices to the work performed, so that income earned but not yet billed is not forgotten.

Ajman licences and what they imply

Ajman Department of Economic Development (Ajman DED) issues mainland licences, while Ajman Free Zone covers companies licensed there. Whether you need an audit, and which auditors the authority accepts, depends on your licence terms and legal form. Instead of guessing, we ask the authority or read the licence conditions with you, then record the answer in the engagement plan.

We also look at the owner's role. In many family-run firms the owner lends money to the company in a good month and withdraws it in a quiet one, with nothing written down. We summarise these movements in one schedule and ask you to confirm the terms, so the auditor does not have to piece them together from bank lines.

A realistic timetable matters as well. A first-time audit file normally takes longer than a repeat one, because opening balances must be explained. We tell you at the outset what we need from you each week and when your auditor should be brought in.

Where small-company files go wrong

  • Cash withdrawals with no purpose noted
  • Rent paid in post-dated cheques that were never accrued
  • Staff salaries paid in cash without a payroll sheet
  • Sales invoices numbered inconsistently or issued from two systems

Frequently asked questions

Our records are incomplete. Is it too late to be audited?

Usually not. We reconstruct the year from bank statements, platform reports and supplier documents, and list whatever evidence is still missing for the auditor to consider.

Do we need accounting software before the audit?

It is not a legal condition of an audit, but a ledger in software makes every later step easier. We can set up a simple system and move your records across.

Can the same firm keep our books and audit them?

Independence rules generally discourage an auditor from auditing records it prepared itself. That is why Young & Right does not act as your auditor and why the appointment goes to a separate eligible firm.

What will the work cost?

The cost depends on the condition of the records and the number of transactions. After a quick look at a sample month, we can tell you how much work is involved.

Discuss your next step with Young & Right

Share a sample month of statements and sales exports, and we will tell you honestly how far your records are from audit-ready. From there we can agree a plan that suits a business of your size.
